Thandie turns on the lights

The lights will be switched on at 6pm by actress Thandie Newton from a stage on New Bond Street.
Well if you are in London something to look out for!

Oscar-winning actress Thandie Newton will switch on the Bond Street Christmas lights in aid of GOSHCC.
She will flick the switch at 6pm on Thursday 23 November on the corner of Burlington Gardens and Old Bond Street and transform Bond Street into a winter wonderland for the occasion.

Nearest tube: Oxford Circus

We’re trying to work out whether the presence of Thandie Newton will prove to be a bigger attraction than the curious promise of snow falling “along the entire length of Bond Street”, which will apparently occur “for one night only”. So has Bond Street now commissioned its own localised weather system? Impressive.
